Award-winning country singer/songwriter and now author, Radney Foster, presents an evening of singing and storytelling to introduce fans to his CD/short story project “For You to See the Stars.” Foster also will be signing copies of “For You to See the Stars.”

Kids Art & Painting Party

Wednesdays beginning June 27, 3-5 p.m., Dare County Arts Council, 300 Queen Elizabeth Ave., Manteo, (252) 473-8068, reservations required. $30 for DCAC members, $35 for nonmembers.

This class is taught by Mari Beth LaRose. The topics change weekly. June 27 focus is on llamas. All supplies furnished. Open to kids six and up. Children younger must be accompanied by an adult.

Student Art Exhibit

Through June 27, Dare County Arts Council, 300 Queen Elizabeth Ave, Manteo, (252) 473-5558, darearts.org. 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, free.

The exhibit features the highest level of Dare County high school art in a variety of mediums.

Succulent Container Gardening

Saturday, June 9, 10 a.m.-noon, Elizabethan Gardens, 1411, National Park Drive, Manteo, (252) 473-3234, elizabethangardens.org, reservations required, $45 for members. $55 for not-yet members, limited to 12 people.

Enjoy a discussion on succulents and create a succulent garden to take home. Light snack and all supplies provided.
