Roanoke Island Festival Park on Wednesday, Aug. 23, is the site of the OBX Summer Send-Off, a musical extravaganza that features JJ Grey and Mofro, Keller Williams, The Record Company, Travers Brothership, Ruth Wyand and the Tribe of One and many others.

Hosted by Bearded Face Productions and presented, in part, by the Outer Banks Visitors Bureau, the fundraiser benefits the nonprofit Mustang Outreach Program. The program's mission is to supplement the cultural arts programs in local schools with world-class music performances, residences and mentoring programs which teach kids music.

Tickets are $30-$40. Gates open at 3 p.m., and the music kicks off at 3:15 p.m. It's lawn seating, so be sure and bring a blanket or beach chair.

Roanoke Island Festival Park is located at 1 Festival Park Drive in Manteo.
