Too busy to prepare a delicious, made from scratch meal for your family every night?

No worries. The N.C. Cooperative Extension’s Families on the Fly series can make meal prep a snap.

The series, which includes four classes, is open to all ages. Each class is from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, beginning Aug. 31, at the Currituck County Extension Center, 120 Community Way, Barco.

Participants will learn the ins and outs of different meals that can be prepared ahead of time or are ready to eat when you get home. Classes are hands-on, and participants will leave with prepared meals and ideas for meal planning.

Class fee is $30 per family, per class. Class size is limited to the first 12 families, and reservations are confirmed upon receipt of class fee.

The Currituck County 4-H staff leads young participant through activities that aim to encourage youths to make healthy choices. Older youth will also have an opportunity to help prepare the meal being demonstrated in the adult class.

Following is the schedule for class dates and topics:

Aug. 31: Adult class: packet meals; Youth class: cooking and healthy choices

Sept. 21: Adult class: freezer meals; Youth class: cooking and healthy choices

Oct. 5: Adult class: one pot cooking; Youth class: cooking and healthy choices
