Oinkin’ Oyster RoasT
The annual feast, sponsored by the First Flight Rotary Club, is a delicious way to support a range of nonprofit organizations while filling an amorous appetite for local seafood. There will be a full pig, (cooked for hours on a smoker), platters of fresh oysters and plenty of side dishes, including hush puppies, cole slaw and other Southern favorites.. Tickets can be purchased online. Tickets purchased online can be picked up at the event’s check-in desk.
Time: Noon-4 p.m.

Cost: $30 adults, $7 ages 6-13, ages 5 and younger are free

Harvest Hay Day
Fall piñata, make and take crafts, corn hole toss, face painting, cupcake walk, scarecrow stuffing, bake sale, apple roll, hay rides, educational stations, a bon fire and fall foods.
Time: 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
Place: Elizabethan Gardens, 1411 National Park Drive
Cost: Free for members, $9 non-member adults; $6 ages 6-17; ages 5 and younger are free with paying adult

Outer Banks Shrimp Cook-Off
Local chefs will compete to prepare the best shrimp dish. Attendees may sample all shrimp dishes and vote for their favorite. Awards will be: Chef’s Choice, Judge’s Choice, and People’s Choice. The event will also feature a large silent auction highlighting donations from local businesses as well as a 50/50 raffle, live MC, and dolphin conservation outreach booth. Tickets are $25. All proceeds will benefit Outer Banks Center for Dolphin Research.
