Eastern Carolina Concert Society presents free concert Sunday

Vocalist Billye Brown-Youmans performs in a free concert Sunday, Aug. 25, at Outer Banks Presbyterian Church in Kill Devil Hills.

Mark the calendar: The Eastern Carolina Concert Society will be joined by vocalist Billye Brown-Youmans in a free concert at 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25, at Outer Banks Presbyterian Church, 907 S. Croatan Hwy., Kill Devil Hills.

The concert, which also will feature the Virginia Symphony brass and timpani/percussion, is open to the public.

Brown-Youmans is director of music at Great Bridge Presbyterian Church in Chesapeake, Virginia. As such, she holds leadership for a variety of choirs, including the chancel choir, senior adult choir, flute choir, handbell choirs, and three children’s choirs. She has a Bachelor of Music in voice performance and a Masters of Science in voice performance and pedagogy. In addition, she is a voice instructor at Virginia Wesleyan College and provides private voice instruction to area students.
