Lobster Mac and Cheese

For a seafood lover like me, you can’t go wrong with lobster and shrimp — and who doesn’t like cheese — but I was nonetheless impressed with the chef’s spin on mac ‘n’ cheese. There’s no skimping on either seafood ingredient, and the proportion of cheese was just the right amount. This menu item hit the spot, not just as an appetizer, but as a meal in itself. — Ryan Hatch

Wasabi Beef

Grilled beef filet medallion with smoked shiitakes finished with wasabi butter

I enjoy red meat, but don’t like to eat a lot of it so when I do, I want to make sure it’s worth it — and this dish didn’t disappoint. The beef tips were cooked to perfection, and the Asian-inspired compound butter added richness and depth to the dish, not too fiery (which wasabi can be), but delightfully flavorful butter.
