There’s no shortage of great spots to catch a sunrise or sunset on the Outer Banks — but if you can couple the experience with a delicious meal, glass of wine or cocktail, it’s a win-win.

From the tip of Hatteras Island to Roanoke Island and up and down the sandbar, the sky’s the limit.

This is the Coast crew’s pick of the week: Miller’s Waterfront Restaurant

The family owned Miller’s Waterfront Restaurant, which has been a fixture on the Outer Banks since 1982, offers exceptional views of Roanoke Sound in Nags Head. Diners can enjoy a casual meal while watching kite-boarders, windsurfers and postcard-worthy sunsets.

The extensive menu includes Oregon Inlet tuna marinated with roasted garlic and spices and can be served with a teriyaki ginger glaze or blackened with Cajun spices, a grilled chicken breast topped with crispy bacon, fontina cheese and sundried tomato cream sauce and a center cut bone in chop over redskin mashers with bruschetta tomatoes and goat cheese — and that’s just a sampling of the culinary offerings.

Relax and enjoy a variety of delightful cocktails, a fine wine or craft beer or indulge yourself with their special Island Kiss: light and dark rum, pineapple juice and orange juice or imbibe in a Crabby Mary.
