Everything about Howard’s Pub is designed for diners — and those just looking to raise a mug or two — to have a good time.

In addition to more than 200 bottled imports, microbrews and domestics, as well as 24 drafts and an extensive wine and specialty cocktail list, kids who visit have meals served on take-home Frisbees, and they are gifted crayons and coloring books.

The walls are decked out in rah-rah college pennants, colorful licenses plates from throughout the U.S., and an array of decorative neon lights.

There are even rocking chairs on the sky deck — yep, a sky deck — from which expansive views of both the ocean and the sound can be enjoyed.

Live entertainment is offered many nights throughout the season.

For those looking for a quieter spot, there’s Howard’s Tower, which affords diners an enclosed view of the island upon which Blackbeard once trod.

The menu includes just-caught local seafood, chicken, burgers, sandwiches, soups and chowders, mini pizza, and more.

While waiting for a table, or after you enjoy your meal, stop by the Pub Gift Shop and check out its wide array of Pub keepsakes, T-shirts, sweatshirts, and souvenirs.
