Monte Hooker is on stage at Aqua

Singer-guitarist Monte Hooker has been a fixture on the Outer Banks for 35 years. When he’s not troubleshooting pump and control panel issues for Environtech — from Corolla to Hatteras, Moyock to Englehard to Swan Quarter — he’s wowing crowds at local hot spots, including Hurricane Mo’s, Arts Place and Aqua.

“I play mostly classic rock, Beatles, Eagles, Pink Floyd, Grateful Dead, Tom Petty, Allman Brothers and others along that line, and a few from Jim Croce, Gordan Lightfoot, James Taylor, Cat Stevens and also some newer artists, Jack Johnson, Passenger and Avette Brothers — and a few original tunes, as well,” Hooker says. “I mainly play guitar, but I can play bass, drums, percussion and some keyboards.”

You can see him perform Fridays at Aqua Restaurant in Duck.
