The Latest: Hurricane warnings issued for parts of Carolinas

Dare County Schools will be closed for all students and staff Tuesday through the remainder of the week.

College of the Albemarle will close all campuses Tuesday through Friday.

Currituck County School District will be closed for students Tuesday through Friday. All after-school activities are canceled this week. Staff members will have optional workdays Tuesday and Wednesday, and details will be sent via email. All custodians and maintenance personnel are considered essential for storm preparation and are required to report for work Tuesday.

Elizabeth City State University is canceling all classes, beginning at noon Tuesday. Voluntary evacuations for students will start then. Residence halls will close at 5 p.m. Wednesday. All other on-campus events from noon Tuesday through Sunday are canceled.

Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Public Schools will be closed Wednesday through Friday.

Chowan University will be closing at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11. Classes are canceled until further notice. All Chowan University staff will report to work Wednesday and a decision regarding Thursday and Friday will be made at a later time.
