Crime scene tape
ELIZABETH CITY, N.C.

Police are searching for men who followed similar patterns in two fast food restaurant robberies here over the weekend.

At about 11 p.m. Sunday, one entered the McDonald's on Ehringhaus Street, ordered a drink and handed the cashier a note demanding money, according to a news release from city police.

When the cashier questioned the note, the man raised the bottom of his hoodie to reveal a gun. The cashier gave him money — police didn't say how much — and he fled on foot toward Harriot Drive.

No one was injured.

He was white and about 5 feet 8 inches tall with a bald head and a mustache. He wore a gray short sleeve sweatshirt with khaki cargo shorts and had tattoos covering both arms.

On Friday about 9:30 p.m., a man walked into a Kentucky Fried Chicken on Hughes Boulevard and handed a note to the cashier telling her to give him money, according to a separate news release from police. It told her to remain calm and act like she was taking an order. The robber took an undisclosed amount of money and fled on foot toward Harrell Street.

He did not show a weapon and no one was injured. Police say he's white and 5 feet 8 inches tall with long brown hair and a patchy beard. He was wearing a blue and gray sweatshirt with skinny blue jeans and a blue bandana around his neck.
