The summer kick-off to benefit Children & Youth Partnership for Dare County includes good, old-fashioned carnival fun featuring 12 amusement rides, Ferris wheel, midway games, concessions and more.

81st Anniversary of “The Lost Colony”

The Tony Award-winning outdoor theater staging annual summer musical about the Lost Colony on Roanoke Island. Set in 1587, 117 English men, women, and children came ashore on Roanoke Island to establish a permanent English settlement in the New World. When English ships returned to bring supplies three years later, they found the island deserted with no sign of the colonists. After nearly 450 years, the mystery of what happened to the colonists remains unsolved.

When: 7:45 p.m. Monday-Saturday. Run time is approximately 2 hours with a 15 minute intermission. Doors open at 7:15 p.m., but the rain-shelters are open at 6 p.m. Restrooms, gift shop and concessions are available

Cost: Depending on the date, tickets start at $20 adult, $10 ages 6-12, free ages 5 and younger. Group tickets and VIP packages are available. Discounts in premier and prime seating available for seniors, military and AAA members

The Spice and Tea Exchange of Duck is teaming up with Corks and Beans to bring guests paired wine tasting events every Tuesday afternoon. Cork and Beans will provide a tasting of five wines from Vineyards on the Scuppernong of Columbia, North Carolina. The Spice and Tea Exchange will provide samples of foods featuring a variety of our very flavorful products to pair with the wines.

When: 4-5 p.m.
