Step back into the 1920s for tours of the historic Whalehead Club at 1100 Club Road n Historic Corolla.
The 21,000-square-foot mansion is decorated in the manner and customs of its original owners, Edward Collings Knight Jr., and his wife, Marie Louise LeBel Bonat Knight, who built the home as a sportsman’s retreat.
On Wednesday evenings, the South Lawn at Whalehead in Historic Corolla is the site of a weekly concert.
The event — Whalehead Wednesdays — is free for non-drinking adults and children, but a $15 general admission ticket gets you a souvenir glass and samples of featured wines and beers (Must have a photo ID if you are interested in purchasing a ticket).
Attendees are encouraged to bring a chair and/or a blanket, and sit back enjoy local live music as you sip wine and watch the beautiful sunset over the Currituck Sound. Local food will be available for purchase. Leashed pets are also welcome.
